Shinhung Global is looking for a service-minded freight broker agent to act as a liaison between SGUS and freight carriers. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the transportation of goods, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining strong relationships with carriers. This position requires a keen understanding of logistics sales, supply chain management, and effective communication skills to facilitate successful transactions.
Freight Broker Agent Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and timely information to shippers and carriers about pick-up and delivery times, transit times, and other logistics details.
- Prepare and submit necessary paperwork, such as bills of lading, freight invoices, and insurance certificates.
- Collaborating with shippers, carriers and dispatchers to manage scheduled collections and drop-offs.
- Communicate with carriers and shippers to arrange transportation of goods.
- Stay up-to-date on industry regulations, trends, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge
- Booking orders with carriers.
- Track and monitor shipments to ensure they are delivered on time and in good condition.
- Keeping accurate records of relevant activities.
- Updating SGUS team on the status of shipments and assisting with other inquiries.
- Maintaining current knowledge of market trends in transportation marketplace.
- Identifying and selecting reputable and safe carriers for freight service.
- Negotiate rates, terms, and conditions with carriers on behalf of Shinhung Global.
- Resolve any issues or disputes that arise during transportation, such as delays, damage, or lost cargo.
- Develop relationships with new customers and carriers to expand the Shinhung Global business and increase revenue.
Freight Broker Agent Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
- 3 years of work experience in a similar role.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Outstanding people skills.
- Proficient negotiating skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
