Overview of Position
At Shining Rock Classical Academy, classroom teachers are leaders who are responsible for developing and implementing SRCA’s curriculum that blends Core Knowledge and Singapore Mathematics with Project-Based Learning and Experiential Education instructional approaches. Classroom teachers also play an integral role in ensuring student success through the support of the school culture, the development and instruction of a rigorous core curriculum, and the use of data to drive their daily practice.
Essential Functions
Mission

Classroom Instruction * Exhibit mastery and enthusiasm for the assigned academic subjects and classes.
- Plan and implement targeted curriculum and assessments for each student which adheres to the school's curriculum and standards.
- Work to implement and master Shining Rock Classical Academy’s’ core instructional practices.
Curriculum and Assessment * To implement a variety of targeted assessments and root cause analysis that measure progress towards learning outcomes and that adhere to Shining Rock Classical Academy’s’ core instructional practices.
- To use assessment data to adapt curriculum and instructional practices to help students meet the school's performance standards. Such use of data includes re-teach weeks, spiraling skills, and changing daily instruction to meet student needs.
School Life * To model, live, and reinforce the school’s core values and policies inside and outside the classroom.
- To perform as an advisor to a group of advisees by overseeing their academic and student life. This responsibility may include taking attendance, holding regular conferences, meeting with students’ parents and communicating with students and parents regularly, leading clubs, facilitating elective course offerings, field learning experience planning and supervision, and other duties as assigned.
Exceptional Children Program * Participate in IEP and 504 meetings as required.
Data Analysis and Reflective Practice s* At the direction of the Associate Director of Instruction (ADI) and Lead Teachers, collaboratively analyze data results and reflect upon one’s own efforts in order to increase instructional efficacy and student achievement.
- Role model a continuous growth paradigm to peers and students alike.
Professional Development * To devote the necessary time and energy required to master the craft of teaching.
- To be open to innovative approaches to teaching, feedback from colleagues and school administration.
- To actively participate in the school’s professional development programs including data analysis and planning, leading and participating in best practice sessions, peer coaching, and attending conferences.
Additional Duties * Other duties as assigned by the Head of School.
Classification * Exempt

Pay: $41,000.00 - $51,000.00 per year
