Position Details
We are accepting applications for a Lead Teacher in our Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) Classroom. This individual will plan, teach, and observe age-appropriate activities for children using Creative Curriculum. This is a full-time position. Hours are 8 : 15 AM to 4 : 45 PM with a 30-minute unpaid break. Our GSRP classroom is a four day program; students attend Monday through Thursday.
Benefits are available after 90 days of on-time employment. 401K, Health Insurance, and Paid Holidays for full-time staff.
Qualifications :
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a compliance plan may be created with the MISD. (Must have an ECE Associates Degree and currently attending ECE courses in a bachelor program.)
- Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields
- Have a Fingerprint Clearance and Background check by the FBI. Arranged with Director.
- Negative TB test
- Certification in CPR and First Aid
- Passionate about working with children
- Ability to build rapport with children
- Positive and patient demeanor.
- Be Flexible as changes occur throughout the day.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be Physically able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Maintain 24 hours of training each school year at 2 hours per month through a MiRegistry account. Must have MI Health and Safety Training each year.
- Attend Meetings / Trainings required by the MISD.

Shining Star Pre-School is a family owned, and operated, center-based preschool located in Shelby Township. Our center has three classrooms, and is licensed for 58 students ages through 5 years of age. Currently, we have two GSRP classrooms and a Tuition Preschool classroom.
