What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant Assistant Teacher position at Shining Stars Montessori?
Shining Stars Montessori is seeking a Lead Infant Teacher/Toddler Teacher to join our growing team!
Job Responsibilities:
- Create a nurturing and positive learning environment for infants and toddlers aged 6 weeks to 24 months
- Ensure proper supervision while managing the daily classroom functions such as diapering, feeding, and proper sanitization
- Maintain a warm, safe, organized, clean, attractive, and appealing environment for children to grow and explore
- Ensure a welcoming environment for children, parents and prospective parents at all times
- Follow and maintain proper feeding, diapering, learning, and play activities according to the developmental needs of each child
- Engage in meaningful infant communication throughout the day
- Respect and love for children
- Positive and excellent parent communication through daily sheets, parent communication App and in-person
- Professional behavior and positive communication with co-workers
- Maintain professional relationships with parents and staff at all times
- Adhere to the school and state procedures/regulations at all times
- Stay current with the training requirements according to the state guidelines
- Respect and follow all school policies to maintain a positive, organized, and safe environment
- Attend all school training, staff meetings, and events as needed
- Knowledge and practice of Montessori Philosophy
- Reliable and punctual
- Basic knowledge of child development and stages
- Lead by example

Job Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Valid Identification
At least 1 year of experience with infants in a licensed childcare facility
Ability to lift up to 35lbs.
Background check and fingerprints upon hire
TB test upon hire
Preferred Certifications:
Montessori Certified (AMS or other)
CPR, First Aid, & AED Certification
TX Food Handlers
