Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and organized Host/Hostess to join our dynamic team in the hospitality industry. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to manage reservations efficiently while maintaining a pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests upon arrival with a friendly demeanor and ensure they feel welcomed.
- Manage the seating chart and coordinate with servers to optimize table turnover.
- Assist guests with reservations and provide information about menu options and specials.
- Answer phone calls promptly, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette while assisting with inquiries and reservations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/host area.
- Collaborate with restaurant staff to ensure smooth service flow and guest satisfaction.
- Handle any guest concerns or complaints professionally, escalating issues as necessary.
- Help the staff to clean and set up tables.
Skills
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with guests and team members.
- Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems, preferably Toast POS and OpenTable, to manage orders and reservations efficiently.
- Background in food service or hospitality is preferred, enhancing understanding of restaurant operations.
- Excellent customer service skills to create memorable experiences for guests.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and willingness to help others, contributing to a collaborative team atmosphere.
