Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Safely supervise, direct, and coordinate the activities of Process Technicians, particularly new Technicians who are progressing through the Employee Training Program.
- Supports Superintendent in maintaining a safe, environmentally compliant operating unit.
- Develop, implement, and conduct employee training programs related to equipment operations.
- Review and document changes in Standard operating procedures (SOP) and Standard Operating Manuals (SOM).
- Train shift personnel on changes in procedures and work instructions.
- Assist in plant shutdown, start-up, turnaround planning, and related activities.
- Evaluates, mentors/develops, coaches, and provides feedback (positive or developmental) to the Process Technicians as necessary.
- Ensure all Process Technicians are current on all certifications/recertifications and track progression in PEP Employee Training Module.
- Qualify process technicians in plant areas through verbal competency tests.
- Manage and update any changes needed to the Employee Training Modules/Program and work on continual improvements to the program.
- Document and investigate violations of company policy, standard operating procedures, and work practices and take appropriate corrective action.
- Maintain the Operator Training Simulator (OTS).
- Complies with all Safety Procedures.
- Assist with unit start-up while training technicians on best practices.
- Complete operation training reports as needed.
- Participate in PHA/PSM audits as needed.
- Write, edit, review, certify, and manage production documents as necessary.
- Develop specialized training on various topics as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High School diploma/GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in manufacturing or related military experience. An accredited Associate's degree in Chemical Process or Chemical Technology or Chemical Process Certificate is required in lieu of experience.
- Prior supervising experience or step-up supervisor experience.
- 5 Years of PEP operations.
- Full PEP Operator certification.
- Background in scheduling and planning

- Regularly required to push, pull, bend, and perform long periods of standing and walking on cement foundations.
- Climb stairs, straight ladders, and structures, etc.
- Occasionally required to stoop and kneel.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to coordinate the movement of eyes, hands, feet, and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
- Emergency Response Team Participation. (Fire, Rescue, and Hazmat)
- Must be clean-shaven.
- Required to be medically certified for respirator and medically fit for duty.
- Work in all weather conditions, under emergency conditions, and for prolonged periods of time.
