Who we are looking for:
ShipEX is looking for a candidate who is confident, has big energy, has a sales personality, and has excellent communication skills. The Account Executive oversees new customers' sales and solicitation process and helps delegate and coordinate the daily load activities of those customers. The Account Executive is responsible for prospecting, closing, and maintaining a customer base. This includes maintaining both volume and profitability on both the customer end of the transaction. This candidate would own the entire sales process from identifying prospects, following up on potential sales leads, and converting!
Primary Focus & Responsibilities:
- Assists with daily load activities by talking with carriers, customers, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring that goods are picked up and delivered on time.
- Acts as a liaison between the manufacturer/supplier, trucking carrier, and receiver.
- Negotiate rates for loads with customers.
- Communicate with logistics coordinators regarding their loads
- Accurately enters and maintains up-to-date information about existing and new customers and prospecting.
- Works quickly to resolve problems that may develop on their load.
- Works leads and prospects to create new accounts
- Make daily calls to solicit freight from new customers
- Accurately books all load and shipment information into the system
- Oversee bid processes and spot quoting on all customer freight
- Assists with the training of Business Development Managers or Account Executive Trainees
- Tracks the success of customers, including margins, rates, and lane activity
- Creates an annual plan with monthly and weekly goals
Required Qualifications:
- Strong work ethic, energetic, fast learner
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
- Self-directed and good problem-solving skills with documented success
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
- Strong verbal communication skills face-to-face and over the phone
- At least 25 wpm typing skills
- Able to simultaneously handle multiple phone lines
- Basic word processing and spreadsheet skills
- Bachelor’s Degree not required but preferred
- Have a proven sales background
- Strong customer service skills
- Candidates must be aggressive, organized, and effective under pressure
- Excellent verbal communication skills face-to-face and over the phone
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work extended hours, including weekends, nights, and holidays, as necessary to close deals
- Experience in sales with a demonstrated ability to achieve sales goals
- Ability and willingness to travel for conferences and client meetings
- Capable of traveling across the US (including driving and walking)
- Capable of sitting at a desk for extended periods
- Capable of analyzing multiple reports in each sitting for proper pricing
- Must be fluent in English
- Must speak in a clear and professional voice so that various types of communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities
- Computer experience and ability to type at least 25 wpm
- Ability to solve problems is a must
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
Compensation:
The compensation is uncapped. You are compensated for all the freight that you procure.
