What are the responsibilities and job description for the SCRC Summer Learning Program Associate Temporary position at Shippensburg University?
The Shippensburg Summer Learning Program (SLP) strives to improve the quality of life for children who have completed K-11th grade in the Shippensburg area community by providing meals and activities Monday through Friday between June 23rd through August 8th from 8:30 am until 12:00 pm (excluding July 4th holiday). Breakfast is served at 8:30 am and programming such as games, crafts, and activities are from 9:00 am until 11:30 am when lunch is served. The Program Associate aids with daily activities, behavior management, and meal service under supervision of the SLP Director. If you have children within the ages to attend SLP (completed K-11th grade), they may come with you to the program. Program Assistant Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Experience working with children
- Responsible, reliable, and assertive
- Ability to provide current, acceptable clearances (Criminal, Child Abuse, FBI)
- First Aid/CPR/AED training necessary, but will be provided
- Completion of online Mandated Reporter training
Program Associate Responsibilities
- Assist with daily activities
- Assist with daily clean up
- Implement behavior management plan for the program
- Communicate regularly with Program Director
- Other duties as assigned for program implementation
o Fridays are field trips and depending on the field trip, may be longer than 1:00 pm
Minimum Qualifications
