The Dock Associate / Part-Time Driver plays a crucial role in our operations by ensuring the efficient flow of goods through our warehouse facilities. This role involves Inbound receiving/Outbound preparation of orders as well as driving a 16ft box van to client locations to pick up products, boxes, and materials, as well as making deliveries to carrier sites and handling other transportation-related tasks as needed. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks to support the receiving, storing, inventory cycle counting, and shipping of products. The weekday shift is from Monday - Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. This position is located in Strongsville, OH.
Daily Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts, stock checks, and reconciliations. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movement and locations.
- Purchase order receiving/inbounding and Outbound shipment prep: Inspecting incoming freight for damages/shortages/overages. Entering quantities received into the WMS according to the packing list and other documents provided. Preparing BOL’s for daily carrier pickups.
- Housekeeping and Safety: Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment at all times. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, or damage to equipment or inventory.
- Assistance with Special Projects: Collaborate with team members and supervisors on special projects, such as warehouse reorganizations, process improvements, or inventory optimization initiatives.
Part-Time Driver Responsibilities:
- Operate a 16ft box van to transport shipments safely and efficiently.
- Pick up products, boxes, and other materials from client locations as scheduled.
- Deliver shipments to carrier sites and other designated drop-off locations.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed.
- Ensure all deliveries and pickups are completed accurately and on time.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, and warehouse staff.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience driving box trucks, vans, or similar commercial vehicles preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and procedures.
- Basic math skills and ability to accurately count and record inventory.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry objects, boxes, or materials weighing up to 50 pounds without risking injury.
- Must be capable of spending extended periods walking and standing on the warehouse floor.
- Good manual dexterity to handle tools, equipment, and small items. Ability to use a computer, scanner, or other electronic devices efficiently.
- Physical Endurance: Demonstrated physical endurance to handle long hours and high-stress situations, ensuring sustained productivity and efficiency throughout the workday.
