Summary
We are looking for a Bakery Assistant to join our team at Shirley's Bakery & Cafe. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering outstanding customer service while assisting with the preparation and presentation of our delicious baked goods. Your contributions will help maintain our reputation for quality and friendliness.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers with a friendly smile and assist them with product information and suggestions.
- Operate the cash register accurately, processing transactions and handling cash.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales counter and production areas.
- Wrap, bag, box, frost, and stock baked goods while ensuring product quality.
- Take customer orders efficiently, ensuring timely completion and satisfaction.
- Engage in active sampling to promote products and enhance customer experience.
- Answer phone calls promptly to assist customers with orders or inquiries.
- Multitask effectively while maintaining a positive attitude during busy periods.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to obtain a food handler's permit if not already certified.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Experience with cash registers or point-of-sale systems is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices is essential.
