Job Summary:
The Director of Operations will efficiently deliver programs and services to the Shively community, ensuring that food assistance, rental/mortgage assistance, utility support, and financial education programs are accessible and impactful. This leadership role requires strategic planning, operational expertise, and a strong commitment to improving the lives of low-income residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
- Manage daily program operations to ensure smooth service delivery and responsiveness to client’s needs.
- Develop and refine operational processes to optimize program delivery, efficiency, and scalability.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to align operations with organizational goals and priorities.
- Oversee overall program financial management, planning, systems, and controls.
- Managing day-to-day processing of program accounts.
- Reconcile monthly program stats and financial activity, generating month-end and year-end reports.
- Produce reports and information necessary for grant contracts with the Development Director.
- Perform some Human Resource duties
Program Oversight
- Oversee food distribution, rental assistance, utility payment support, and financial education initiatives, ensuring program goals are met.
- Monitor service delivery metrics and community impact, making data-driven adjustments to improve outcomes.
- Work closely with program staff to address challenges and innovate solutions.
Financial and Resource Management
- Collaborate with the Executive Director on budgeting and resource allocation to ensure financial sustainability.
- Oversee Food Center staff to ensure procurement, inventory, and resource distribution for food assistance and other programs.
- Reconciling monthly activity, generating year-end reports, and fulfilling tax related requirements.
- Assisting the Executive Director and Board in creating the annual organizational budget and monitoring cash flow.
- Managing grantor contracts and reimbursement requests.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Social Work, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in operations, social services, or nonprofit management.
- Familiarity with the challenges and needs of low-income communities, particularly in the Shively area, is a strong plus.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Proven experience managing community-focused programs and operational budgets.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in program evaluation and data-driven decision-making.
- Bi-Lingual (Spanish) a plus

Pay: $52,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
