Job Overview:
We are seeking a moderately experienced Lathe Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in lathe operation, with proficiency in basic G&M Code programming to make adjustments, manipulate programs, and set offsets. This position requires the ability to independently set up and operate lathes, read blueprints, and accurately measure/inspect finished parts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC and manual lathes to produce high-quality parts.
- Adjust and manipulate existing programs using G&M Codes (proficiency in Mastercam not required).
- Make offsets and adjustments to ensure correct part specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on lathe equipment.
- Inspect finished parts using personal measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, etc.) to ensure they meet blueprint specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating lathes in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of G&M Code programming and the ability to make program adjustments.
- Ability to set up and operate CNC and manual lathes.
- Proficient in blueprint reading and using measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
- Must own personal measuring equipment and a toolbox.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.
Preferred Skills (Not Required):
- Experience with Mastercam or similar CAD/CAM software.
- Familiarity with other CNC machine operations.
