Transport Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Transport Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and customer service. The Transport Driver will operate a company provided pickup truck with trailer, ensuring the timely delivery of products.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate truck and trailer to transport goods
• Ensure timely deliveries and maintain communication between stores
• Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper handling and securing of items.
• Follow designated delivery routes while maintaining schedules and deadlines.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status.
• Operate manual transmission vehicles as needed.
• Utilize forklifts for loading and unloading when necessary.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies during transport operations.

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
• Clean driving record
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects
• Pre-Employment background check and drug screening required
• Experience with trailers and securing loads
• Knowledge of State and Federal transportation regulations
• Strong attention to detail and excellent time-management skills

Experience

• Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type.
• Familiarity with load unloading procedures and safe handling practices.
• Previous experience as a delivery driver is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
