The Company has manufacturing facilities in Tennessee & Alabama, with sales personnel in Spain and Australia servicing Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia-Pacific.
Shoals sells their solar products principally to engineering, procurement, and construction firms that build solar energy projects. The custom nature of their system solutions and the engineered-to-order development cycle for solar projects typically gives Shoals a 12 month lead time to quote, engineer, produce, and ship each order, so there is no need to stock large amounts of finished goods.
Summary:
The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production including safety, goal setting and measurement, schedule attainment, manpower planning, execution, motivation of team members, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve a work environment that is physically safe and supports the well- being of team members.
- Enforce quality control measures to ensure compliance with customer requirements while minimizing scrap and rework.
- Establish appropriate indicators of performance, at appropriate process points and levels, to measure the business and set goals.
- Drive root cause evaluation and corrective action implementation methods with staff to achieve goals, improving continuously.
- Work with scheduling and peers to ensure that customer needs are met, managing workload between operations to minimize cost.
- Plan manpower and working schedule to ensure that production schedule is met in an efficient manner.
- Propose and implement improvement plans to improve safety, improve quality, and reduce cost, utilizing direct reports and support teams to achieve results.
- Work with engineering to develop long term capital plans to ensure sufficient equipment is available to meet customer demands.
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of floor managers, supervisors, team leaders, operators, and support staff (as assigned). Provide training and feedback to team members to support professional and personal growth.
- Collaborate with other departments to support business initiatives.
- Serve as backup for other production manager(s)
- Ensure effective two-way communication with team members at all levels on a daily basis.

Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management, providing regular updates on plant performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred
- Required minimum of 3 years of experience in Operations/plant management
- Excellent people management skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and mentor employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated experience implementing shop floor improvements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
