About the Role - The Accountant assists the Accounting Department in providing comprehensive core office support, including traditional general accounting functions, internal and external financial and SEC reporting, treasury and risk management, tax and compliance, budgeting and forecasting, and accounts payable, sales audit and inventory control support. Maintains monthly general ledger account reconciliations, including prepaid and the fixed assets subsidiary ledger. Maintains monthly accounting, consolidation and reconciliation of the company's subsidiaries. Participates in monthly financial statement review activities. Distributes monthly store and department level financial reports. Serves as backup for certain daily treasury functions, such as reconciliation of corporate level cash and cash equivalents. Participates in budgeting and forecasting activities, including primary responsibility for selected expense items. Participates in preparation of necessary schedules and provides assistance to third party auditors, as applicable. Participates in the preparation of periodic compliance filings for state and local authorities, including sales and use tax, personal property tax and annual reports. Provides process improvement suggestions for all areas of involvement, including periodic assessment of policies, procedures and software. Completes ad hoc Accounting Department projects as requested by management.

Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field required.

- Experience working within an accounting department preferred.
- Proficient in Excel, Word and experience working in MS-Office and Windows based environments.

- Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Skills
Pay range and compensation package - Starting salary: $50,000. Commensurate with Experience.
