The Photography Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of a photography department or team. They coordinate and execute photography projects, ensure the quality and consistency of images produced and manage the workflow and resources of the department. They are also responsible for staff photographer training and development, developing photography guidelines and standards, and collaborating with other departments or clients to meet their photography needs.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities :
- Oversees all aspects of the organization's photography and video assets both in-studio (table-topsets) and in outside environments.
- Partners with Creative Director to develop campaigns, locations, props, and lighting concepts.
- Determines lighting and exposure requirements needed to produce quality images.
- Produces photography and schedules the work of photographers to ensure that work meets creative expectations and requirements, and is delivered prior to sales or marketing deadlines.
- Directs models on set, and all other needs as necessary to make lifestyle shoots come to life.
- Utilizes digital asset management tool to name, save, and archive images and maintains master image archive in an organized manner.
- Responsible for sizing, naming, and retouching of all shots.
- Responsible for maintenance of photographic and studio equipment, and cleanliness of the studio.
- Stays up-to-date on industry best practices, trends and new technologies.
