STORE MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

OVERVIEW:

Store Managers’ leadership and guidance to their team creates a positive environment focused on customer service, maximum productivity, profitability, and sales generation. Store Managers must be able to perform the functions of a company Assistant Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1) Leadership:

a. Motivate team by setting a positive example and always demonstrating the highest standards of customer service and behavior expectations.

b. Create an overall store atmosphere that develops positive relationships and team environment.

c. Establish and maintain the Company’s standard of customer service by promoting a “customer comes first” attitude.

d. Communicate clear expectations and hold store team accountable in achieving all brand, performance, and behavior standards.

e. Demonstrate good judgment in decision making based on a mixture of information supplied by the Company and gathered on the job.

f. Create on a monthly basis, weekly schedules of store associates ensuring all shifts have a balanced staff with ability to cover all business and operational needs.

g. Build working relationships with peers and internal and external corporate support partners.

2) People Development:

a. Recruit, hire, develop, and retain top management and sales talent.

b. Train and develop sales team in all areas of their job responsibilities including, but not limited to, product knowledge, customer service, and all store operations. Set Key Performance Indicator goals, measure performance, and provide feedback to all levels of store team using information supplied by the Company and gathered on the job.

c. Identify employees’ performance successes and challenges in a timely manner and develop effective plans for resolution, as applicable.

3) Operational Standards:

a. Oversee execution of all merchandise processing and flow to floor maintaining exceptional stock room standards of efficiency and organization.

b. Direct and implement all Company strategies, promotions, and directives in a timely manner to achieve optimal sales potential.

c. Ensure all store price directives are implemented accurately.

d. Maintain inventory accuracy including successful inventory events as scheduled.

4) Drive for Results:

a. Partner with Management team in execution of brand culture and initiatives to maximize sales potential for the store and company.

b. Provide effective leadership and coaching to store associates to promote achievement of monthly Key Performance Indicators.

c. Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and effectiveness, while ensuring the store is inviting and easy to shop.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) May be required to mentor other employees as assigned by the Company.

2) Special projects, as assigned.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

Work is typically performedindoors in a retail store. Flooring surfaces may be carpeted or uncarpeted. Depending on seasonal conditions, exterior work clearing snow and ice from walkways may be required. Sweeping exterior walkways may also be required.

Position requires walking and standing for 4-12 hours, depending on shift length, and frequent bending, reaching, grasping, climbing a ladder or step stool, kneeling, and squatting.

CREDENTIALS/EXPERIENCE:

1) One (1) year prior sales experience preferred.
