If you enjoy using your InDesign experience and have a background in communications, this is a wonderful opportunity to join a collaborative and experienced Store Operations team! You will have the opportunity to work with corporate departments, stores and our Distribution Center. This entry position works out of Shoe Carnival's Corporate Headquarters in Evansville, Indiana. This position will report to the corporate office on Monday through Thursday and has the opportunity to work from home on Friday!
Starting salary: $44,360. Commensurate with experience.
The Operations and Communication Specialist formats material for Store Operations, online user guides, and weekly communication.
- Prepares and formats weekly corporate communication platforms to be shared across all locations.
- Writes project directions for field locations in a precise and clear manner.
- Uses industry best practices when collaborating with internal teams and subject matter experts to develop and implement original and innovative communication programs and materials designed to support the company's strategies and brand initiatives.
- Acquires and maintains a detailed knowledge of the company's policies, principles, and strategies, and keep up to date with relevant developments.
- Develops and implements a communication strategy that includes internal content.
- Adheres to the company's style guide, ensuring that all documents are high-quality and error-free.
- Supports and evaluates the results of communication campaigns with the team.
- Builds and maintains relationships with key internal role-players.
REQUIRMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Technical Writing, Communication, English, Document Design or related field, or 1-3 years of experience creating corporate documentation (e.g., technical writing, leadership communication, corporate presentations, corporate newsletters, and policies and procedures).
- A minimum of 1-year experience in communications strategy development required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficient in Photoshop, InDesign, and/or other similar publishing software.
- Exceptional written skills, including the ability to self-edit content and shape corporate messaging.
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to organize complex content into clear and concise instructions suitable for users with varying backgrounds.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to self-motivate and work in a fast-paced team environment.
