Our only Distribution Center is located at 14701 N Hwy 57, Evansville, Indiana, 47725 and ships shoes to over 400 stores. It's a physical job! If you have never worked in a warehouse environment before, you should understand that you will be on your feet for 90% - 95% of your shift. We try to make everyone comfortable by having a climate-controlled environment and relaxed dress code. Due to our large facility, working conditions could still affected by the seasons and weather.
Starting rate: $15.50/hour.
Summary:
The Shipping Coordinator plays a crucial role in maintaining efficient and organized shipping operations. They are responsible for daily setup of the shipping sortation system and working with the Distribution Leads and Managers to resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the shipping process.
- Works with Distribution Leads to ensure priorities are addressed and special assignments are carried out in a timely fashion.
- Prints and completes bills of lading for outbound shipments.
- Utilizes Warehouse Management System (WMS), as well as other internal systems, to generate work assignments for the shipping team.
- Provides updates, both written and verbal, to partners within the DC to include Maintenance, IS and Transportation.
- Monitors and modifies workflows within the Shipping Department to ensure all expectations are met or exceeded.
- Identifies and resolves problems involving merchandise to be shipped.
- Produces standard and ad hoc reporting for the shipping area
- Assists in tracking inventory of store supplies.
- Maintains a sense of urgency without jeopardizing quality or safety.
- Serves as a backup for other shipping coordinators.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong computer skills, to include Microsoft Outlook.
- Possess understanding of the Distribution Center functionality; or ability to learn.
- Familiarity with Shoe Carnival's Manhattan WMS and Pyramid WCS; or ability to learn.
- This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
- Ability to lift as required, up to 70 lbs.
