What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specialist, Subsidized Housing position at Sholom Community Alliance?
The Specialist, Subsidized Housing (a) assists tenants and/or their family members through the leasing process; (b) maintains occupancy levels at budgeted or higher rates; (c) ensures all tenants are greeted and welcomed when they move into the community; (d ) inputs information into the accounting system detailing the HUD housing tenants; (e) assists new tenants in adjusting to the buildings; and (f) maintains communication with tenants and their family members.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Assist tenants and/or family members with leasing process, including:
2) Coordinate and facilitate the move-in process.
3) Accurately document new tenant information on appropriate forms (list is not all-inclusive and subject to change).
4) Perform HUD accounts receivable/billing processes.
5) Provide tenant relations services to enhance the experience of new tenants.
6) Work with families, responsible parties and staff to provide a safe, healthy environment.
7) Comply with laws and regulations applicable to the Subsidized Housing Specialist position and act in accordance with corporate compliance programs.
8) Act as a resource to department managers and Sholom staff to provide information and support the organization.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform miscellaneous projects and completes various tasks as requested by management.
2. Attend designated meetings as scheduled. Develop and maintain a good working relationship with inter-departmental staff.
Education, Experience and Credentials
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Three years or more billing experience required, preferably with a HUD housing or long-term care organization.
- Work experience in long-term care industry preferred.
- Post-secondary education in human services, social services, or related preferred.
