What are the responsibilities and job description for the Enterprise Applications Administrator position at Shook, Hardy and Bacon?
Hybrid position in Kansas City, MO working at least Tuesday and Thursday onsite. Under general supervision, this position is supports the Firm's enterprise applications using a proactive and analytical approach to solving technical problems. Monitoring system performance and using administrative tools to accomplish assigned projects and tasks for specific computer applications or systems. Duties include:
- Manage and Maintain Cloud and Desktop Applications: Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of cloud-based applications as well as desktop applications. This includes but not limited to the document management system, records management system, ITSM solution, and legal specific applications.
- Monitor Performance: Continuously monitor application performance and availability, implementing improvements as needed.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to cloud and desktop applications. Daily performance monitoring and proactive correction of problems before they occur.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud and desktop applications. Communicates courteously and professionally by phone and in person, using good communication skills.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of application configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Continuous improvement: Maintains and increases professional and technical knowledge of the latest developments in technology and recommend improvements to existing systems.
- Will occasionally work with vendors, partners and consultants to identify technology advancements and help determine the viability of those advancements to the Firm.
- Performs application upgrades and assures that the applicable applications and/or software are tuned to vendor specifications.
- Under general supervision and with the use of software development tools, assists in testing and/or deploying new features and modules for existing software applications.
- Responsible for testing patches for potential security or break-fix incidents.
- Assists clients with questions and problems on assigned systems and prioritizes and schedules client requests to ensure the most critical needs for assigned systems are completed in a timely manner.
- Responsible for the stability, availability and reliability of servers under their control.
- Attends training sessions concerning skill development; travels to these sessions when necessary.
- Participates in the firm's data disaster recovery program, which may require travel with minimal notice.
- Works at different shifts outside of stated office hours occasionally. Provides after hours support to computer users throughout the firm by being on call 24 hours a day periodically on a rotating schedule with other team members.
- While on call, remains in a position to receive help calls and answer them quickly and thoroughly in a professional manner.
- Keeps supervisor abreast of current issues and potential problems as they develop; seeks advice from senior administrators or supervisors as needed.

Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in computer science or a related discipline;
- A minimum of two (2) years related experience and/or training;
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred: Enterprise Applications Administration experience at a law firm/ practice.
