Position Summary:
The Human Resources Director is pivotal in providing comprehensive HR support and driving the strategic HR goals aligned with the business objectives. This role encompasses managing a broad spectrum of HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration, employee relations, training and development, performance management, diversity and inclusion initiatives, HRIS maintenance, benefits management, and ensuring compliance with legal standards. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the HR Director will also collaborate closely with the Controller and Director of Operations to ensure HR strategies are integrated seamlessly into the business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organization's strategic goals, addressing key HR issues and setting HR objectives that complement overall business plans.
· Manage HR department accountabilities including policy development, staffing, employment processing, compensation structures, benefits administration, training and development, records management, safety and health protocols, risk management, succession planning, employee relations, EEO compliance, and labor relations.
· Provide dedicated HR support to management and department leaders, covering critical areas such as recruiting, onboarding, payroll processing, benefits administration, performance management, employee engagement, and training initiatives.
· Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth integration into the team and compliance with legal documentation requirements.
· Act as a coach and mentor to leaders, offering guidance on effective team member relations and performance management practices.
· Serve as a key resource for addressing employee relation matters, offering coaching to managers and ensuring professional handling of sensitive issues, including disciplinary actions and terminations.
· Conduct new hire orientations and oversee the development and delivery of training sessions across various HR domains.
· Ensure compliance with company policies and legal standards at the local, state, and federal levels.
· Oversee benefit enrollments, changes, terminations, leaves of absence, and accommodations, ensuring accurate processing and record-keeping.
· Manage payroll, and benefits within the HRIS system (Paylocity), conducting regular audits to maintain accuracy and compliance.
· Organize and manage employee events and initiatives that promote diversity, inclusion, and a positive workplace culture.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
· SHRM or PHR certification highly regarded.
· 3-5 years of experience in an HR Generalist role, with supervisory experience preferred.
· Previous experience in the hospitality industry (hotel or restaurant HR) is an advantage.
· Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with proven leadership capabilities.
· Strong organizational and time management skills with a keen analytical and problem-solving approach.
· Bilingual abilities (English and Spanish) are highly desirable.
· Familiarity with Paylocity, HotSchedule and Toast POS platforms is a plus.
