What are the responsibilities and job description for the Merchandise Assistant position at Shop Avara?
The Merchandise Assistant is responsible for compiling, processing, disseminating, and maintaining merchandise information and providing other administrative support to the merchandising team.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Works to support multiple Buyers/Junior Buyers with data entry, revisions, and tracking for all items/POs in process
- Keeps all files organized and up to date, as changes occur
- Ship samples, tags, and labels to vendors as needed
- Obtain revised sales invoices as needed for proper account documentation
- Maintain a system of organization for all incoming samples
- Update training guides as needed
- Communicates directly with product vendors as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Job Required Knowledge & Skills
- Associates degree in Business Administration or a similar field preferred
- Excellent time management skills: ability to manage multiple projects, organize and prioritize workload to meet assigned deadlines
- Ability to operate professionally, effectively, and ethically as an individual contributor and member of a team
- Is detail-oriented and executes tasks with a high level of accuracy
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Problem-solver with a proactive nature
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products & ability to learn new software platforms quickly
