Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team at a busy grocery store. Duties
- Operate cash registers and point-of-sale (POS) systems to process customer transactions.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and assisting them with their inquiries.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately while maintaining a balanced cash drawer.
- Stock shelves and maintain product displays to ensure the store is organized and appealing.
- Conduct product demonstrations as needed to promote new items or special promotions.
- Communicate effectively with customers in both English and any additional languages as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area and surrounding spaces.
- Adhere to all store policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is preferred, especially in a grocery store setting.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customers.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and providing accurate change.
