Position Summary
The role will be responsible for a variety of legal matters related to the ShopCore's shopping center portfolio. The primary responsibilities will be for leasing and lease related documents. Other responsibilities will include support for property management and operational issues.
Responsibilities
- Provide key legal support, advice and counsel to the Leasing Department.
- Negotiate and draft leases, operating and use agreements, and other real estate documentation such as listing agreements, easement agreements, condominium association documents, access agreements, and license agreements.
- Handle condemnation matters, including negotiations and documentation
- Supervise outside counsel engaged to handle a variety of matters, including negotiating leases and representing ShopCore in condemnation and litigation matters.
- Title and survey review.
- Negotiate and draft lease related documents including amendments, assignments and SNDAs.
- Negotiate and draft a variety of corporate contracts, including confidentiality agreements, vendor contracts, and consulting agreements.
- Provide support for acquisitions and dispositions
- Provide support to Property Management in tenant dispute matters
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate and Bar Admission
- 7 years of relevant experience
- Applicable experience in the shopping center industry/retail matters, specifically including lease drafting and related matters.
- Management experience, including work supervision and development of direct reports.
- Ability to draft complex documentation.
- A client services mindset to manage expectations and deliver high quality work product.
- Comfort with direct and frequent contact with executives, as well as a respectful and collegial approach with more junior associates.
- Superior analytical skills in interpreting contract provisions and municipal codes.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Success in multi-tasking while maintaining a strong attention to detail and desire to perform projects and actions with the highest quality results.
- Maintaining personal skills and establishing relationships in order to advance professional networks and facilitate communication both within and outside the company.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- A practical approach to problem solving, accurately conveying detailed information in an accessible manner without “over-lawyering”.

Salary : $200,000 - $225,000
