POSITION SUMMARY:

Ensure appropriate disbursement of funds to vendors using the most efficient controllable methods available. Maintain relationships with merchandise vendors as well as internal departments. Manage electronic and verbal communication with vendors, factors, centers and merchandising team members concerning payables.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

PROCESS & PROCEDURE

• Ensure audit procedures set by leadership are adhered to and that appropriate action is taken when issues or errors are discovered

• Address all necessary steps to avoid debit balances

• Ensure all approval requirements are followed

• Be the subject matter expert for accounts payable on various external systems

• Maintain ongoing and effective communication with centers and merchandising staff to ensure accurate and efficient pairing of purchase orders and invoices

• Report discrepancies to Sr Accountant

VENDOR RELATIONSHIPS

• Establish and maintain communication with the accounts receivable/credit department for each vendor to effectively resolve business issues

• Schedule meetings with vendors to resolve payment discrepancies, vendor billing and shipping issues

• Communicate recommendations to vendor to minimize discrepancies

MONTH END REPORTING

• Prepare various journal entries

• Update various month end reports by providing exclamations of variances

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent accounting experience

• 3-4 years’ accounts payable experience required

• Able to work cross-functionally with excellent attention to detail and follow through

• Solid interpersonal relationship skills

• Strong analytical and conceptual skills

• Strong oral and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization

• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a matrix environment

• Solid organizational and planning skills

• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of programs

• Experience with Oracle NetSuite

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization through written and two-way verbal communication

• Able to read and write at a high school graduate level

• Able to lift 10 to 20 pounds

• Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time

• Able to operate various office equipment (e.g., personal computer, telephone, fax

machine, copier, etc.)

• Able to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights and weekends) office hours

to meet established deadlines

• Able to travel independently to support Company objectives and personal development
