About Us: Shore House, the first Clubhouse-accredited, evidence-based model rehabilitation program, serving adults with serious mental illness in New Jersey, seeks full-time Social Practitioner. The Clubhouse-model approach towards mental rehabilitation focuses on engaging our members throughout the day, focusing on improving social and vocational skills.
Our Social Practitioners provide Clubhouse Model rehabilitation services in the prevocational day, employment, and evening/weekend social recreational programs. Job responsibilities will predominantly focus in culinary unit and include:
- Maintain enthusiasm, commitment, and belief in the Clubhouse Model.
- Work side by side with Clubhouse members to support Clubhouse operations including: preparing, planning and facilitating meals cooked for and with Shore House members.
- Menu planning and health and wellness programming
- Connecting members to community resources.
- Supporting members in employment positions including the community.
Schedule: Shore House is open 5 days a week, and on major holidays including Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. Applicants for this position must be able to work at least 35 hours/week which may include evening and remote and/or weekend hours. This is not a remote position and requires direct contact with Shore House members. This position is expected to begin immediately.
Education & Experience:
- Our entry level positions require a BSW (MSW preferred).
- One year of experience with adults with serious mental illness strongly preferred, but recent graduates with experience will be considered.
- Clubhouse Model knowledge and experience preferred but not required.
- Bilingual (preferred)
Compensation:
- Salary starts at $51,000/annually.

Licenses/Credentials:
- Ability to travel locally and regionally or out of state for training (within the first 6 months of employment).
- First Aid/ CPR certification shall be obtained and maintained.
- Must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
