What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bowling Center Events Manager position at Shore Lanes Bowling Center?
OVERVIEW
Shore Lanes Bowling Center is looking for a candidate to be a leader on the team by helping business operations. You will provide customer service oversight and monitoring of the 34,000 sq ft. facility.
40 lanes of bowling with a full kitchen, bar & lounge and game room as well as an outdoor summer venue. Helping league bowlers and open bowlers have an enjoyable experience. Renting lanes to patrons, helping them with their group events and overseeing shift operations.
We are open evenings during the week & all day on the weekends. If you have leadership experience in either customer service, hospitality or general maintenance. We are looking for someone who enjoys a fast paced work environment where supporting you team is just as important as helping our customers.
Day to Day:
Must have experience in bowling, entertainment, sports leagues or hosting and managing large scale front of house restaurant management.
Be friendly and inviting to our guests in person and over the phone Manage the wait list If there’s a waitlist, you’ll take names, and suggest/upsell other available activities (like games, food & drink) to keep our guests happy & busy.
Be able to manage multiple parties at a time. Stay organized and have a friendly attitude towards guests at all times.
Track availability and assign lanes, assign shoes & other equipment (clean/spray shoes upon return), prepare for leagues, and get all the relevant info (shoe sizes, bowler names, ball preferences) needed to provide a seamless guest experience. Work the register, Ring sales at the counter and follow our cash control procedures
Explain rules, policies and proper etiquette
Tech/Troubleshooting: You should be able to handle basic trouble shooting problems, rebooting computers, basic mechanical glitches. Cleaning and basic understanding of all equipment ( All training will be given on site)
Lead and delegate. Able to effectively delegate tasks in a positive and mentoring fashion. Lead the crew through the shifts events. Everything from birthday parties to leagues to weddings.
Show up on time and can communicate with other managers. Ability to open or close building.
Assist in developing a qualified staff.
Project a positive image of the organization to employees and help maintain morale.
Works well with others, agreeable, honest and able to delegate tasks effectively
