Job Description:
The Facilities Engineer Position at Shore Medical Center is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all mechanical and electrical systems. This includes high pressure boilers, hot water boilers, chillers, building automation systems, and HVAC equipment. The ideal candidate will have excellent mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills, with the ability to troubleshoot current and potential problems, conduct preventative maintenance, and understand hospital emergency power equipment and distribution systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all mechanical and electrical systems
- Troubleshoot current and potential problems with mechanical and electrical systems
- Conduct preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems
- Understand and operate hospital emergency power equipment and distribution systems
Requirements:
- Black Seal High Pressure Engineer's License
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical schematics
- Ability to operate and maintain hospital high pressure boilers, hot water boilers, chillers, building automation systems, HVAC equipment
- Knowledge of electrical distribution system
- Excellent mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
- Ability to complete repairs and required paperwork in a timely fashion
- Computer proficiency, with excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
- Physical strength to lift heavy objects, carts, or items frequently
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Blue Seal High Pressure In-Charge License
- Graduate of a Vocational/Technical school
