General Summary:
A nonexempt position responsible for nursing care under the supervision/direction of physicians, allied health professionals, and the practice manager.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Obtains, verifies, and records health history of patients. Collects specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Obtains vital statistics and updates patient information; records notes in patient e-chart
- Provides basic patient care as ordered by physician, mid levels and allied health professionals. Administers medications and treatments as directed. Assists other health care professionals in performing exams, diagnostic procedures and treatments, and minor medical procedures. Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies.
- Documents assessments, interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, and test results in medical records.
- Promotes wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician and allied health professional advice/instructions.
- Handles patient telephone inquiries regarding medical information and advice, following practice triage protocols. Handles pharmacy communications regarding patient prescriptions.
- Maintains medical supply levels in exam rooms. Responsible for instrument sterilization procedures.
- Functions according to delegated authority and follows practice policies/procedures.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and performs position responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner.
- Other similar and related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:

- High school diploma
- Graduation from an approved practical nursing program.
- Minimum one year of LPN experience; medical practice setting experience preferred
- State-licensed practical nurse
- High school diploma
