The Medical Laboratory Technician Generalist performs a wide range of laboratory procedures in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures. This includes collecting and processing specimens, performing tests, and evaluating results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilizes quality control to make decisions on a routine basis to establish standards.
- Communicates critical values in accordance with departmental policy.
- Recognizes and reviews abnormal and inconsistent results, taking appropriate action as necessary.
Requirements:
- Must be certified as a Medical Technologist (ASCP) or eligible to sit for the exam.
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records and medical terminology.
- Intermediate computer skills and excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
