Shore United Bank is seeking a full-time Benefits Specialist to join our team. The Benefits Specialist administers and supports the benefits programs of the Bank including core medical, dental, vision, ancillary benefits, voluntary benefits and financial benefit programs. This role supports new hire enrollment, benefit education and materials presentation, as well as Open Enrollment annually. This role reviews documents, insurance certificates and required reporting to ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, employment and HR laws and regulations. This role assists in benefit invoice reconcilement and liaises with benefit broker, insurance companies and internal departments in support of the benefits function. This role is the first and primary contact for employee questions related to company benefits. This role provides support functions to HR leadership and the department.

Essential Functions Include
- Administers the benefit programs of Bank and assist with benefit program analysis, benchmarking and alternative benefit options.
- Assists in benefit invoice reconciliation and insurance record maintenance on insurance vendor websites as needed to ensure accurate billing and company/employee costs.
- Analyze and respond to inquiries from employees regarding any benefits, insurance company questions, new hire or open enrollment and FMLA
- Prepare reports, communications or other benefit related material to provide to employees and department.
- Prepares final pay and benefits continuation packets for separating employees.
- Prepare FMLA forms and correspondence and assists in FMLA tracking.
- Read articles and attend timely webinars to stay current with laws and regulations as applicable to position and the HR department.
- Promotes employee engagement through HR department activities and events
- Performs other administrative duties to support the overall function of the HR Department as needed including working with other departments as needed.
- Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Company’s compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g., Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.
- Participates in required training sessions, including training for compliance with BSA/AML policies and procedures.
Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work
- Full-time.
- Non-exempt.
- Days of Work: Monday-Friday.
- High school diploma/GED equivalent.
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Four or more years of related experience, or a comparable level of education and experience.
- Minimum two years' experience supporting the benefits function of a mid-size or larger organization required.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with ERISA compliance required.
- The pay range for this position is $24.50 - $27.80 hourly.
- Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure requirements and/or skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.
