What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher/Busser position at Shorehaven?
JOB SUMMARY
Serves and handles food in compliance with Shorehaven policies and procedures, and Local, State and Federal health and safety regulations including cafeteria service.
Schedule: 10am to 6:30pm
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Consistent and regular attendance on the job.
- Obtain food and supplies for the job area.
- Setup and work on tray line at appropriate station including loading and delivering assigned food carts.
- Assist cook in duties as assigned.
- Timely and efficient preparation of meals.
- Check work area to maintain safety and sanitation requirements. Reports repair and maintenance needs to supervisor.
- Cafeteria service, setup and accountability of cash register receipts.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

- Push, pull, lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds frequently required for preparation of food and food service functions, etc.
- Simple to moderate manipulative skills required to write, push buttons, knobs, etc. on food service equipment.
- Bending, stooping, squatting and kneeling as required to obtain supplies, etc.
- Walk and stand constantly; twist, bend and reach from floor to over head to obtain supplies, etc.
- Hand-eye coordination, including finger and arm dexterity/ mobility to safely operate equipment and prepare food and drink.
- Visual acuity (20/40 corrected vision) required for distances to identify residents and co-workers; near-sighted to read typed and written correspondence/diet cards.
- Hear and distinguish normal sounds with background noise ranging from conversational levels to loud sounding alarms.
- Concentrate on moderate and/or fine detail with frequent interruption necessary to perform variety of tasks related to food service functions.
- Attention span ranging for 10 - 60 minutes to perform minimal to fine detailed tasks essential to food service functions.
- Understand and relate to simple and complex directions and specific ideas behind actions.
- Continuous clear speech, reading, and hearing skills to comprehend and communicate with residents and co-workers, to follow written and verbal instructions and to respond to emergency alarms.
- Memory capable of remembering task/assignments ranging from a few hours to long periods of time.
