About Us:
Shoreline Christian School is a Christ-centered educational community committed to nurturing the hearts and minds of students. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Student Support Staff member who loves the Lord and desires to serve in a Christian school environment.  We offer medical, dental, vision, 403B, life insurance, and PTO.  Salary $35,000 - $48,000 DOE.  Our greatest accomplishment and hope as teachers is that every child will know that they are special and created in God’s image.

 

Job Overview:
The Elementary Student Support Staff member will work closely with the Elementary principal, Director of Student Support, School C
ounselor, and Elementary teachers to provide support to students in a variety of ways throughout the school day. The primary goal of this role is to help students thrive by providing assistance with academic, behavioral, and social needs, helping them grow in confidence and success.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Support:  Support the needs of individual students, helping them achieve success in the classroom.
  • Relationship Building: Foster positive relationships with students, ensuring they feel supported, understood, and valued.
  • Academic Assistance: Work with students on executive functioning skills, subject-specific learning, classroom focus, and goal-setting.
  • Small Group and Individual Support: Provide one-on-one support and small group instruction to students who need additional help.
  • Recess and Supervision: Assist with recess duties, ensuring the safety and well-being of students during break times.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the elementary principal, school counselor, director of student support and classroom teachers to support student needs and implement interventions.
  • Monitor Progress: Track and document student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.

Qualifications:

  • A deep love for the Lord and a desire to work in a Christian educational environment.
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly in an educational or support capacity, is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and a commitment to supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • High level of patience, empathy, and flexibility.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Experience working with students
