Position Overview:
The Secondary Student Support Staff member will work closely with the Secondary Principal, Director of Student Support, School Counselor, and Secondary teachers to provide support to students throughout the school day. This role is crucial in helping identify the needs of students and creating individualized strategies to foster confidence, academic growth, and success. The ideal candidate will play an integral part in building strong relationships with students, assisting them with executive functioning skills, subject-specific learning, classroom focus, and goal setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to identify and address the academic, social, and emotional needs of students.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students in areas such as executive functioning, time management, organization, and subject-specific content.
- Foster a positive, supportive, and encouraging environment for students to build confidence and achieve success.
- Help students set and achieve academic and personal goals.
- Assist with classroom management, focus, and student engagement.
- Assist in other assigned duties as needed by the Secondary Principal and Director of Student Support.
Qualifications:
- Strong commitment to the values and mission of Shoreline Christian School.
- A love for working with students and helping them grow spiritually, academically, and emotionally.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Prior experience in education or student support is a plus, but not required.
- A desire to build meaningful relationships with students and staff.
