Title: Production Planner
Department(s): MD-Office
Reports to: Production/General manager
Job Summary: Coordinates the scheduling and timeliness of the production process to ensure the company meets all deadlines. Main responsibilities are to ensure an accurate bill of materials, and adequate inventory levels for BOM & purchased items before releasing job work orders to the floor. Creating work orders in the ERP system, ensuring Their duties include scheduling production and monitoring the production process for problems and notify Production Manager of any material shortages.
Essential job functions:
- Planning, scheduling and coordinating production through use of EWF and ERP systems.
- Using ERP system to evaluate raw material and equipment availability, ensuring everything is in place for production.
- Reach out to the Purchasing Dept. for items that need to be bought and provide necessary updates and reporting.
- Ensure that the Bill of Materials BOM on work orders is accurate and up to date before releasing
- Finding ways to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Using market forecasts and competitive analysis to anticipate necessary production changes.
- Inform the Sales Team about any commitments that cannot be fulfilled and provide data specific reasons for the delay along with an estimated timeline for completion.
Qualifications:
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- Previous experience working in a high-paced manufacturing environment.
- Commitment to detail.
- Self-motivated team player with strong communication skills.
- Self-teach the fundamental functions and processes of the ERP system
- Knowledge of production processes
- Technical skills using ERP and scheduling software
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent to 5 years of work experience in a related field.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Organizational and time management skills
