SUMMARY, ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : The Dean of Academic & Student Affairs acts as the Chief Academic Officer and is responsible for student life and Institutional Research and Effectiveness. They develop administrative, personnel, and academic policies and programs for the college. This role oversees the curriculum, class schedules, and student orientation; supervises the library and faculty personnel, evaluations, academic programs, academic standards, and records. They manage campus life, coordinating services to college students, including tutorial services and testing. They administer policies on student life, health, housing, discipline, scholarship, and other forms of student assistance.
This position also includes Enrollment Management responsibilities, which encompass the Registrar’s office, Student Recruitment, and Financial Aid, along with other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE : A doctorate degree in Higher Education or a related discipline is preferred. Previous experience as a Department Chair or in a senior leadership role in Higher Education, including academic programming, is also preferred. Teaching, administrative experience, and expertise in curriculum and pedagogy are required. Must be an experienced leader in classroom management and student discipline matters.
LANGUAGE SKILLS : Strong communication and facilitation skills, with experience in developing reading, writing, and math initiatives.
REASONING ABILITY : Must be a team player with experience in collaboration, capable of working under pressure and adapting easily. Strong leadership skills to manage a large staff, including senior leadership positions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT : The employee will work in an office environment on a college campus, with some travel required. Must be flexible and adaptable to constant change.
