What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cleaner position at Shorts Brewing Company?
Type: Part Time
Location: Bellaire Pub, The Elk Rapids Pull Barn
Under limited supervision, the Cleaner performs a variety of cleaning duties in and around the Short’s Brewing Company properties as well as related maintenance duties as assigned.
The Cleaner should expect to work a variety of hours as the seasons affect business levels. Cleaners can be expected to work days, nights, weekends and even double shifts, depending on the season or staffing needs. Cleaners should be prepared to work during all busy seasons and on holidays, although the cleaning schedule is arranged in advance. No job is too big or too small; the Cleaner will do what it takes with their team to get the job done.
The Cleaner is an at-will, hourly position reporting to Pub Management.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited to the Following:
Daily Pub Cleaning:
- North Side:
- Sweep & Mop
- Vacuum floor vents
- Clean all windows: North and South front entrances, door to North Bar stairs, South Bar window, both South Side rear entrance doors, keg room doors, and rear entrance hall window (keg room).
- Wipe down bus seats and booth.
- Wipe down table posts and bases.
- Sweep stairs to the North Side basement.
- De-gum chairs, tables, bars, and beer ledge.
- Restrooms:
- Bathroom stalls and walls are to be wiped down and sanitized.
- Clean sinks, including the deli hand sink
- Fixtures cleaned
- Toilets disinfected inside and out, including base and and inside of holding tank
- Mirrors cleaned
- Floors swept, scrubbed with a deck brush and hot soapy water, then wet vacuumed.
- Wipe down and sanitize doors, handles and kick plates.
- Wipe down and sanitize soap dispensers, hand towel dispensers, Dyson Airblade, and trash cans (daily).
- Toiletries restocked.
- Stage Side:
- Sweep and mop.
- Rear entrance swept and mopped daily.
- Stage swept and mopped daily.
- Wipe down handrail.
- Roll out rugs when cleaning is complete.
- Mop Closet:
- Clean and organized everyday.
- Mop sink scrubbed; maintain cleanliness daily.
- Replace broken broom stick and mop holders as needed.
- Empty trash in grain room.
- Mop the floor.
- Wipe down door and knobs.
- Assist with regularly scheduled cleaning projects
- Mosaic and stone steps
- Stairs to basement
- PM scheduled work:
- Deli coolers, etc.
- Bathroom floor drains
- North and South Bar ream and cleans
Elk Rapids Pull Barn Facility
- Restrooms:
- Bathroom stalls and walls are to be wiped down and sanitized.
- Clean sinks, including the deli hand sink
- Fixtures cleaned
- Toilets disinfected inside and out, including base and and inside of holding tank
- Mirrors cleaned
- Floors swept, scrubbed with a deck brush and hot soapy water, then wet vacuumed.
- Wipe down and sanitize doors, handles and kick plates.
- Wipe down and sanitize soap dispensers, hand towel dispensers, Dyson Airblade, and trash cans (daily).
- Toiletries restocked.
- Clean any mirrors/windows, including window sills.
- Wipe down doors, knobs, fixtures, etc.
Other Requirements/Responsibilities:
- No personal cell phone use while on the clock. However, for safety reasons, your cell phone may remain on your person during your shift.
- Contribute to proper organization; everything has its place. This includes keeping all closets, tools, and supplies neat and organized after each shift.
- Communicate any issues with equipment, etc. to the appropriate maintenance department in a timely manner.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment at all times while working.
- Ability to write, draft, and send emails.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Calm, flexible, and able to work through emergencies
- Ability to simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities.
- Follow all SOPs and safety protocols.
Physical Requirements:
- Consistently lift and occasionally carry 50 pounds to chest height.
- Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, lifting, kneeling and reaching.
- Frequently reach with hands and arms.
- Be on his or her feet for the entire work shift, up to 6 hours.
- Walk up and down a flight of stairs several times per day.
- Climb ladders and work at heights for prolonged periods of time.
- Able to work in hot and cold environments and in proximity to chemicals used to clean brewing equipment.
