What you will be doing:
The Hotel Contracts Account Manager will be responsible for managing all contracts related to hotel accommodations for assigned collegiate athletic accounts. You will be responsible for the timely completion and accuracy of all hotel contact details required by the client. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.
Essential Functions:
- Demonstrates proficient knowledge, skills, and abilities specifically as it relates to the review and management of hotel contracts. Measured on average turnaround time for contracts, and total number of contracts completed.
- Utilizes exceptional customer service capabilities: above average listening, negotiating and communication skills, creative thinking and problem solving, detail oriented with excellent follow through. Measured on accuracy of contracts, negotiations, and hotel correspondence.
- Builds strong, productive relationships with hotel vendors, hotel sales managers, national sales offices, etc. to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrates the ability to be a good team player: cross-trained or available for cross utilization, dependable and reliable, is flexible with the ability to multi-task. Measured by number of open trips at one time in various stages.
- We are a team at Short’s Travel Management and as such, you may be expected to assist in other departments or handle tasks outside of your typical position scope for the benefit of our clients or company.
Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in a hotel sales position.
- Experience with hotel contract negotiations, customer service, and hotel management.
- AA degree or equivalent experience required.
- Ability to convey technical subject matters with ease and impact to non-technical audiences.
- Strong executive poise and presence
- Flexibility to work based on client or event specific requirements may be needed.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (i.e., non-traditional hours) as needed.
Technical Skills:
- Must have broad understanding of general business concepts and disciplines including finance/accounting, corporate card programs, travel management, etc.
- Experienced Microsoft Office skills specifically including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
- Experience with Salesforce & Cvent
