Short’s Travel Management (STM) is a family-owned, women-owned, private corporation. We are sports travel experts specializing in team travel, recruiting travel, group hotels, bus charters and air charters servicing hundreds of athletic departments each year. What you will be doing:
The Sr. Account Manager will serve as a central point of contact for STM accounts, ensuring seamless execution of all travel services across each sport. This includes overseeing and optimizing key services such as commercial air (A), charter air (C), bus transportation (D), and group hotel accommodation (S). The role requires a proactive approach to supporting the program implementation, ensuring smooth operations during and after launch, and maintaining client satisfaction through strategic problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires the ability to work autonomously as an individual contributor while collaborating effectively as part of the Account Management team. The Sr. Account Manager will work closely with ACDS Account Executives, Sales Directors, and other internal and external stakeholders to address issue escalation, coordinate resources, and drive impactful solutions. Additionally, the role encompasses responsibilities such as contract oversight, account renewals, client relationship management, and contributing to the overall success and growth of the travel program.
Essential Functions:
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrates proficient knowledge and skills utilizing, training others on, and troubleshooting both industry-standard and proprietary technology.
- Client-Centered Approach: Consistently delivers a positive client experience by utilizing analytical and strategic skills to understand needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Contributes to a positive, productive team environment exemplified by high morale, strong communication, and clear understanding of individual and team responsibilities. Works closely with leaders to anticipate future travel needs and proactively adapt services to meet evolving requirements.
- Reliability & Adaptability: Demonstrates the ability to be dependable and reliable, flexible with the ability to multi-task. Serves as primary contract for accounts.
- Account Oversight: Oversees multiple aspects of the customer experience to ensure a positive, successful, and profitable partnership, including implementation oversight, account relationship, contract management, account renewals, invoice processing, and exploring opportunities for service expansion.
- Cross-Functional Support: Embodies the collaborative spirit of Short’s Travel Management by stepping in to assist other departments or handling tasks beyond the typical scope of the position when needed, always prioritizing the best interests of clients and the company.
- Develop & Present Reports: Provide clients with performance metrics, travel spend analysis, and recommendations for cost efficiency and program enhancements.
Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) or equivalent professional experience required.
- Industry Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in Collegiate Athletics is essential.
- Preferred Experience: Familiarity with the travel industry is preferred.
- Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours and travel based on account needs, including annual or bi-annual client visits.
- Salesforce experience is required.
