We are seeking a qualified Language Arts teacher for the Jr. High School for the 2025-26 school year

  • In addition to our teacher's base salary, our District puts 100% of 301 towards teacher's compensation

We are not a host school and do not sponsor J-1 applicants

POSITION SUMMARY

The classroom teacher will help students fulfill their potential by translating the district curriculum standards and objectives into meaningful learning experiences through classroom instruction and indirectly through special area assignments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's / Master's Degree
  • Arizona Teaching Certificate
  • Appropriately Certified in core content area
  • SEI Endorsement Preferred or obtained within the first year
  • AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Communicates learning goals to students in a well-planned, organized manner using clear and precise language
  • Prepare and deliver instruction appropriate to the student population, including a curriculum that addresses learning styles, abilities, interests, behavior problems, and students with special needs.
  • Create lesson plans describing daily learning experiences correlated with approved curriculum and State and District standards.
  • Use available technology to enhance learning.
  • Use district and state assessment data to improve instruction and place students in appropriate instructional and intervention programs.
  • Facilitate instruction based on current research-based best practices
  • Effectively implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Establish classroom routines to promote a positive environment conducive to effective instruction
  • Participate in team reviews concerning the academic progress of low-performing students
  • Document and resolve issues related to student behavior problems and attendance
  • Reflect on teaching and strive to improve professional competence
  • Assume legal responsibility for the supervision of students on school property or in attendance at school-sponsored activities
  • Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities
  • Maintain accurate, complete, legible, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation
  • Participate in the intervention process at sites
  • Participate in school-wide events, scheduled meetings, and parent conferences.
  • Participate in school and District initiatives.
  • Assume individual responsibilities that may be assigned by the principal / supervisor and that may relate to committee work, student activities, student supervision, or other planning and professional assignments.
  • Meet any additional specific job requirements as indicated by the District or school site.

  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    This classification typically requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, pushing, reaching, lifting, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Employees may be subject to travel, body fluids, fumes, odors, dust, gases, poor ventilation, workspace restrictions, and intense noise. Employees may be required to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
