CONVENIENCE STORE CASHIER
Reports to: Store Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY
The Convenience Store Cashier to handle customer transactions efficiently while assisting with food preparation and maintaining store cleanliness. In this role, you will operate point-of-sale systems, process payments, and provide excellent customer service while also preparing food and ensuring convenience store operations and upkeep. Responsibilities include managing inventory, maintaining gas pump supplies, and ensuring a clean and organized work area. To succeed in this position, you should have prior customer service experience, familiarity with cash handling, and the ability to work evening and weekend shifts. This role is essential in ensuring smooth transactions, quality food preparation, and an outstanding customer experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process customer purchase transactions using point-of-sale systems
- Scan goods ensuring price is accurate
- Collect proper forms of payment and provide change accurately to maintain a balanced drawer
- Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets
- Provide quality customer service
- Redeem stamps and coupons
- Stock shelves and supplies
- Oversee inventory
- Maintain store and gas pump cleanliness
- Restock supplies
- Assist in preparing hot foods
- Perform open and closing duties as needed
- Resolve customer complaints
- Reconcile the drawer
- Perform all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work is typically performed in standard convenience store setting, with occasional tasks in cold storage areas, freezers, beer caves, and outdoor conditions

- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including a variety of shifts, days, evenings, nights, and weekends including overtime, as needed

- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
