Description
Lifeguards ensure the safety of visitors at Island Waterpark by maintaining constant surveillance, actively scanning, and monitoring patrons in their assigned area. Lifeguards explain safety rules to patrons, warn them about unsafe situations and enforce waterpark rules. Lifeguards are responsible for recognizing and responding to water rescues and incidents as well as rendering emergency care when necessary.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Safeguard and regulate conduct of waterpark patrons
- Enforce park policies, rules, and regulations
- Rescue patrons and performs appropriate follow-up procedures, including the proper use of equipment in the performance of first aid
- Respond quickly, intelligently, and decisively in accordance with established emergency and accident procedures
- Must be alert and actively seek to prevent accidents and eliminate risk
- Must administer CPR and first aid as appropriate per incident protocols
- Provide written reports on all accidents / incidents
- Maintain proper updated safety requirements
- Attend in-service training as scheduled
- Provide customer service to patrons, including handling customer conflict and complaints, as necessary
- Perform work safely in accordance with departmental safety procedures
- Operates equipment safely and reports any unsafe work conditions or practice to waterpark leadership
- Communicate with patrons professionally and courteously to answer questions, resolve conflicts and enforce park policies and rules
- Performs other duties as assigned
