Position Overview: Showplace is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our dynamic manufacturing team this summer. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the manufacturing process, contribute to process improvement initiatives, and work closely with cross-functional teams. This internship is an excellent opportunity for a student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a keen interest in manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacturing Process Support:
- Assist in the development and improvement of manufacturing processes for mechanical components and assemblies.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to optimize production efficiency and quality.
- Quality Assurance:
- Participate in quality control activities, including inspections and testing of manufactured products.
- Analyze and address non-conformance issues to ensure product compliance.
- Prototyping and Testing:
- Contribute to the prototyping and testing of new products and manufacturing methods.
- Work with the engineering team to identify areas for improvement based on test results.
- Documentation and Standardization:
- Create and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality control plans.
- Support efforts to standardize manufacturing processes across different product lines.
- Collaboration with Production Teams:
- Work closely with production teams to address manufacturing challenges and provide technical support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of design and manufacturing processes.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and principles.
- Familiarity with CAD software for manufacturing applications (e.g., SolidWorks).
- Knowledge of quality control methodologies and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Eagerness to learn and take initiative.
Education and Certifications:
- Completion of the third year or higher of college.
