What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Engineering Technician position at SHOWPLACE WOOD PRODUCTS INC?
We are now expanding our Engineering team here at Showplace Cabinetry. In this position, you will assist with the design, testing, and certifications of cabinets and other products. This includes, but is not limited to, product design drawings, catalog drawings, product certification testing and paperwork, product configuration assistance, and product database updates. This position may also involve assisting with the implementation of machines and processes related to creating an efficient and safe work environment. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with process improvement projects, new machinery and technology implementation, facility improvements and expansions, corporate compliance functions and strategies, and energy efficiency improvements.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain KnowZone product database and product CAD files.
- Maintain catalog drawing database.
- Help design and implement jigs, fixtures, machines, and processes that aid in the production of high-quality cabinetry and wood products.
- Using LEAN process improvement principles to guide efficiency improvements in plant operations.
- Prepare reports, statistics, layouts and recommendations as necessary for engineering projects.
Other duties may be assigned, requested, or directed.
Equipment/Machinery/Tools Used:
Computer, MS Excel, AutoCAD, miscellaneous technical meters/tools
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Associates Degree and/or 0-3 years of experience.
AutoCAD and MS Excel fluency, including advanced formulas.
Strong logic/analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
