Essential Job Responsibilities:
1. Programs, Staff, and Management
- Manage, oversee, and support all Shredder programs at the Livonia facility including Yeti, Little Shredders Ski and Snowboard, Ski and Board School, Open Gyms, Birthday Parties and Camps.
- Assist in supervising all Livonia staff, including full-time and part-time positions. Provide active management, clear direction, on-going support and coaching, and evaluation of progress toward performance measures to ensure the success of all Shredder programs.
- Responsible for the scheduling of employees at the Livonia location using the Paychex scheduling software.
- Responsible for Livonia communication with customers via phone. Timely responses to all inquiries will be met.
- Ensure program excellence and consistent quality of program implementation.
- Work with staff to ensure all coaches are adequately trained, supported, and prepared with proper expectations for their assigned role. Receive training on the Shredder curriculum, youth development best practices, risk-management guidelines, and instruction on program implementation.
- Teach the necessary classes and be a role model for other instructors.
- Maintain the overall general cleanliness of the Livonia facility.
2. Development and Camp
- Work in conjunction with the Gym Manager to strategize opportunities to increase summer camp awareness and enrollment.
- Collect photographs, stories, and highlights at Shredder program days for the purpose of engaging customers, and staff.
- Assist in contributing to the Livonia facilities social media accounts.
- Ensure camps are properly staffed and managed.
- Assist with coordinating and participating in one-off marketing events such as Shredder Showcases.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree desired, with a combined minimum of three years of experience in program management and implementation. Experience working with youth. Experience with outdoor or sports-based education a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The ideal candidate should be organized, a self-starter, a strong communicator, able to effectively manage varied tasks, and have strength in managing and supporting a diverse group of staff. The candidate should have experience managing projects with many moving parts. They must be willing to take on a variety of tasks: from teaching lessons, to scheduling staff, to training, to implementing the mission and the core values, to educating staff on the curriculum and to supervising a diverse team. The candidate should have experience seeing projects and programs through to completion and evaluation.
Candidates should have a foundation in the following:
- Knowledge of sports-based youth development, public education and youth engagement.
- Experience, comfort, and passion in working with youth.
- Experience in program management and implementation.
- Ability to effectively manage seasonal staff, with experience in recruitment and supervision.
- Experience working cooperatively with community groups.
- Strength in managing multiple priorities to ensure work is completed in a timely and productive manner that is outcome focused.
- Ability to communicate and organize effectively.
- Familiarity with adventure sports, both summer and winter activities.
- Some experience with basic information technology, database management, and program evaluation.
- Reliable transportation.
Physical Aspects of the Job:
This position requires the ability to travel to the Boulder location and the ability to use the computer, telephone, and electronic mail systems. The position requires the ability to lead meetings and speak in public.
