Hydraulics Technician Tier 2

At Shredfast Inc., a Hydraulic Technician – Tier 2 reports to the Hydraulics Lead and operates as a senior production employee within the Hydraulics Department staff, both carrying out advanced hydraulic system install functions and providing guidance for the department in the absence of the Hydraulics Lead. A Hydraulics Technician – Tier 2 should have adequate knowledge of hydraulic systems to answer all intra-department junior staff questions and coordinate effectively with other departments.

Duties and responsibilities

• All duties of Tier 1 Hydraulic Technician including:
  • component preparation and installation
• Knowledge of all components required for builds.
• Must know how to read and follow hydraulic schematics.
• Preform equipment “run-up” with assistance of lead and document results accurately.
• Equipment diagnosis and troubleshooting
• Work with the service department to find components, and aid in diagnosis and troubleshooting/resolution of customer concerns and issues with equipment in the field.
• This position will be relied upon by other departments as a go-to when the department lead is unavailable.
• Position may be asked into production meetings and asked for input on production/manufacturing changes.
• Mentor junior technicians in proper protocols and procedures, safety, and handling of hydraulic installations to achieve high quality production output while maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be in good physical condition and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, get in and out of vehicles and work on ladders throughout the day
• Must be self-motivated and able to stay on task with good attention to detail
• Dependable transportation required
• Must maintain a clean and organized work environment

Additional Information

All applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. This is a Safety Sensitive position that requires a pre-employment drug screen that includes marijuana (tetrahydrocannabinol – THC & nonpsychoactive cannabis metabolites- CBD), amphetamines, cocaine metabolites, opioids (including heroin, morphine, and codeine), and phencyclidine (PCP).

Shift Schedule:

Monday to Friday / 7:00am – 3:00pm (non-exempt) for Full-Time position

• 2 years in a mechanical trade with knowledge of hydraulic systems preferred.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be detail-oriented and thorough in following procedures.
• Able to work independently and/or under supervision with other employees.
• Must have reliable transportation for work commute.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds when moving heavy items such as hydraulic tanks and hose kits, and be able to sit, stand, crouch and kneel.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Tools are provided.
