Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete finishing and be comfortable working in various construction environments. This role involves preparing, pouring, and finishing concrete surfaces, ensuring high-quality results that meet project specifications. The Concrete Finisher will collaborate with other team members to complete projects efficiently and safely.
Duties
- Prepare and set up concrete forms according to project specifications.
- Mix, pour, and spread concrete using appropriate techniques and tools.
- Finish surfaces of poured concrete using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints to understand project requirements and layouts.
- Perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with concrete work.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations on the construction site.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and to specifications.
- Conduct quality checks on finished surfaces to ensure smoothness and durability.
Skills
- Proficient in concrete finishing techniques, including smoothing, leveling, and texturing surfaces.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required in the role.
- Strong skills in blueprint reading to accurately follow project plans.
- Knowledge of construction estimating for material requirements and project timelines is a plus.
- Experience working on construction sites with an understanding of safety protocols.
- Familiarity with hand tools used in concrete work, such as trowels, floats, and screeds.
- Experience in flooring installation or roofing can be beneficial for certain projects.
- Knowledge of concrete forming processes and operation of concrete mixers is preferred.
