Shrewsbury Public Schools is seeking candidates for a School Guidance Counselor for Shrewsbury High School for the 2025-2026 school year.

Essential Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Provide individual and group counseling support regarding social, emotional, academic, and post-secondary planning to students
•Manage student’s academic schedule and plan towards completing graduation requirements and personal academic abilities
•Organize the school orientation for new students with appropriate academic placement and transition needs
•Discuss college or career readiness testing with students and parents
•Assist students in the college application process, including writing letters of recommendation, and providing financial aid information where appropriate
•Deliver the developmental school counseling curriculum in a classroom setting
•Assist career ready students to explore and research career possibilities
•Participate as necessary in the team evaluation process for all assigned students receiving special education services and 504 accommodations
•Consult and collaborate with students and parents/guardian, and relevant community agencies, to support students facing challenges that impact their academic progress.
•Other tasks as assigned by the High School Principal or Director of School Counseling/Guidance
Preferred:
•Licensure as a School Counselor or School Guidance Counselor, Grades 5-12, from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
•Experience and availability to administer standardized testing, including PSAT, SAT, ACT
•Works flexibly in a changing environment
•Understands the needs and behaviors of high school students
•Demonstrates the values of Shrewsbury Public Schools
