POSITION: Stipend – ESL Teacher for Adult ESL Classes
2024-2025 School Year
Shrewsbury Public Schools is seeking ESL teachers to teach English as a Second Language to parents and caregivers of Shrewsbury Public School students.
We are interested in candidates who are invested in the achievement, equity, and access of all learners in and beyond the classroom.
Candidates with diverse racial, cultural, religious, class, and/or gender background and experiences are strongly encouraged to apply.
The stipend for this position is $1,260.00 and will be paid at the end of the 12 weeks. *
*Stipend is based on teaching 12 class periods of 90 minutes each plus one hour preparation time per class, and will be adjusted accordingly if fewer classes are taught during the session.
Position Requirements:
•Classes are in person and will be held at an SPS location.
•Classes will meet once a week for 90 minutes, for a period of 12 weeks, starting after February vacation.
•Adult ESL curriculum resources will be shared.
•Two teachers may share the teaching responsibilities, either through a co-teaching arrangement or a job-share arrangement. In this case, the stipend will be split between the two teachers.
Preferred Qualifications Include:
•ESL license through Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
•Experience teaching ESL to adults
•Exhibits the values of Shrewsbury Public Schools
•Works flexibly in a changing environment
